Karen is co-author with Eben Alexander III, M.D. of Living in a Mindful Universe (2017). At international workshops presented with Dr. Alexander, Karen demonstrates key practices of consciousness exploration: heart awareness, intention, maintaining neutrality, emotional management and cultivating internal knowing.
Her lifelong interest in ancient cultures and sacred sites catalyzed her drive to understand the purpose of our existence. She became fascinated with esoteric spiritual texts and sought the complete story of humanity’s collective history. In her search for answers, it was clear that firsthand personal experience is crucial for the fullest understanding. She enrolled in hands-on experiential courses to investigate and develop such skills as meditation, lucid dreaming, astral travel, telepathy, remote viewing, self-hypnosis, and forms of energy healing, which validated that we can all develop these abilities. Most surprising was that this exploration led to unexpected personal and spiritual growth.
With focused dedication, she evaluated different theories and techniques through experiments in her daily life. Using this depth of personal evidence, she cultivated a personal knowing, not only of the reality of the spiritual realm, but also a facile expertise in living that life of daily connection with universal consciousness. Among her greater attributes is the rare skill of discernment – an ability to separate the wheat from the chaff in navigating a pathway towards truth.
Karen’s most intriguing forays into consciousness involved listening to sounds such as gongs, crystal bowls and tuning forks. Recordings containing binaural beats were particularly effective at minimizing distracting thoughts and restlessness, allowing her to finally reach the expanded states of awareness she sought. Karen joined with Kevin Kossi to create original recordings attuned to their personal preferences. Together, they created Sacred Acoustics so that others could share their experiences.
Prior to her transition into a career in personal development, Karen enjoyed a vibrant 26 years in the magazine and newspaper publishing field, where she held key leadership positions providing oversight and direction for technology transitions faced by the print industry. She cultivated business skills in web development, desktop publishing, communications, information technology, project management and strategic planning. Karen’s fondest memory of her publishing career remains nurturing young graphic artists and digital publishing specialists, which aligns with the caring essence she applies to Sacred Acoustics, her writing career and personal development workshops and webinars. Naturally, it has all come full circle for Karen.
As an initiate of the ancient Mystery Schools I have studied several modalities, but the one modality I find the most true is within and without myself through self-exploration. Only when one is willing to let go and be lighter than that feather on the other side of the Maat’s scale, can one explore the realms sufficiently unburdened and unseen if one so chooses.

Along my path I had a NDE - Near Death Experience in which I experienced the tunnel at the gate of death. Though I did not pass through it at that time, I vowed to return in this life while alive and to pass through it and return. From that moment on, my life’s work became to further my knowledge on how to best transcend that and other passages and all that lies beyond.
As a child I thought it was normal to leave my body and travel to other realms both at night in my dreams and in the day while daydreaming. I realized at an early age that I was different than my friends in that I spent my nights exploring the galaxy and other realms in my sleep in fully Lucid Dreams. Sure as a child I had my nightmares, but the odd thing was that I enjoyed the challenge of an unbeatable foe. It was in these dreams that I got bored with running away from the entities that often chased me and one night stopped running, turned around and confronted this creature with a glistening sward in my hand. From that moment on I had the new found ability to change the apparent reality that presents it self to me, not only to chase the beast’s away but to stop the subconscious chatter and explore from there. First within the confines of my brain, and then realms beyond in the non-physical.
I became an Engineer and learned how things are put together in the physical world, which gave me the knowledge and ability through numbers to decode my experiences into sound in the true Pythagorean/Egyptian/Atlantean knowledge of resonance. I have studied and become a Radionics Operator/healer. This modality gives me insight and knowledge to safely navigate and shape the energetic realms.
From these experiences and knowledge I created NeuralHelix™, a groundbreaking acoustic entrainment technology that blends both binaural and monaural tones in perfect synchronicity, that I believe far surpasses all other entrainment technologies in both it power and it’s intricate weaving of soundscapes to calm the mind and free the spirit.
The works I create and compose for Sacred Acoustics are born out of insight and experience in these other worldly realms. I travel to Sacred Power Spots around the world to do EEG research, testing and meditation. Months of integrating acoustic ratios go into creating a cohesive and perfectly harmonious acoustic entrainment substrate of entrainment tones. Then the acoustic atmosphere is created in synchronous harmony with the entrainment tones to give the meditator a safe and protected environment in which to journey and learn.
My desires are to provide humankind with the tools to relearn what humanity has lost in the fog of our history, to enable everyone to connect with the spiritual world and their spiritual heritage, thus seek out their own answers and shape their destiny.
Dr. Eben Alexander was exposed to brainwave entrainment technology as a means to revisit the realms he encountered during his near-death experience in 2008. After meeting Karen Newell and Kevin Kossi in 2011, he began listening to recordings they had created originally for their personal exploration.

Dr. Eben Alexander practiced as an academic neurosurgeon for more than 25 years, including 15 years at the Brigham & Women's Hospital, the Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston. In the predawn hours of November 10, 2008, he was driven into coma by a rare and mysterious bacterial meningitis-encephalitis of unknown cause.
On the seventh day, to the surprise of everyone, he started to awaken.
