We recently returned from our fourth presentation at the 43rd annual SSF-IIIHS annual conference in Montreal, Quebec. Their theme this year was Living the Divine Potential: Where Science Meets Spirituality. All presentations were simultaneously translated for the French-speaking members of the audience.
Eben Alexander and I (Karen Newell) delivered a joint keynote focused on our co-authored book, Living in a Mindful Universe. Eben outlined the scientific support for metaphysical idealism - the idea that we are all connected through one primordial mind and that the material world arises from consciousness. My contribution expanded on why this is relevant to each of us in our daily lives and how generating love from within is the ultimate golden rule.
Our workshop three days later focused on the experience of the spiritual realm and our connection to it, using sounds of Sacred Acoustics as our impetus. We began with a short version of Heart Center 2 to expand feelings of gratitude, followed by our first public presentation of Love Body in order to feel the love.
We saw some familiar faces, but also many new people with interest in our message. We were honored to be interviewed by Suzie Matte, host of The Zen Portal, a French-language blog about spirituality in Quebec. Our interview was delivered in English, but French subtitles have been added.
Our book will be published in French by Guy Tredaniel with the title Voyage d'un neurochirurgien au cœur de la conscience in September 2018.

Knowing how to maintain a core sense of presence and balance creates a foundation of strength to move from empathy to compassion, and at your finest, altruism, when you take action to help another without concern for yourself.
